In 1977, paranormal examiners Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren leave a deliberate holiday to go to Enfield, a ward in north London. There, they meet Peggy Hodgson, an overpowered single parent of four who tells the couple that something shrewdness is in her home. Ed and Lorraine trust her story when the most youthful little girl begins to hint at evil ownership.
